Music City Guitars exists to serve musicians. We’re a hands-on guitar shop, and we want you to hang out, try out gear and play. We sell great new, used and vintage equipment, and we go through our used and vintage gear on our own bench, so it’s ready to play. Every guitar we ship gets fresh strings and a proper setup before it goes out the door. We keep instruments playing their best with expert repair, teach players of every age and level, and give our community a welcoming place to play, learn and talk gear.
About Music City Guitars
Music City Guitars is a locally owned, full-service guitar shop in Manchaca, Texas. We sell new, used and vintage guitars, amps, effects and more, and we buy, sell and trade every day. We offer private lessons, in-house guitar and amp repair, and consignment, all under one roof.
Come in and play
This is a shop built for playing, with plenty of room to do it:
- The live room, packed with amps and electric guitars. Plug in and turn it up.
- The guitar hallway, lined wall to wall with electric guitars.
- The acoustic room, a quiet, isolated space where you can hear exactly how an acoustic guitar sounds.
- The bass room, with space and amps dedicated to bass players.
You’re welcome to come in and try anything, whether you’re shopping for your next guitar or just want to have some fun. Plug in, play, take your time. No pressure and no “please don’t touch” signs here.
What we do
- Gear. New, used and vintage guitars, basses, amps, effects, pro audio, strings, cables and accessories.
- Lessons. Private, one-on-one lessons in our lesson studio for every age and level.
- Repairs. Our guitar and amp service departments are each run by a dedicated pro. Tony Nobles handles guitars, and Billy Broome handles amps.
- Consignment. Let us sell your gear for you. You get 75% when it sells.
- Trade-ins. Put the gear you’re not playing toward something you will. Bring it in and we’ll work out a trade.
- We buy gear. Rather have cash? Bring in what you’re not playing and we’ll make you an offer.
I’m Cade, the owner of Music City Guitars, and I’ve spent more than ten years in the guitar business. I learned behind the counter and at the workbench in guitar shops here in Austin. alot of times, from the best people in town.
I also worked for Gibson as a guitar tech, working backstage at concerts and festivals. On the road, there’s no room for error. Every guitar has to play and sound right before the artist walks on stage. That experience, along with years at the shop workbench, means I’ve seen almost every problem a guitar can have and every repair it can need. The same goes for amps and pedals.
But what I love most is simple: fixing guitars, selling guitars, and hanging out with musicians. This is what I enjoy doing.
That’s why I opened Music City Guitars on January 6, 2023.
